You Actually Can Purchase Unpasteurized Almonds:

Thank you for stopping by. You are now at a growers ranch in the Central San Joaquin Valley of California, the premier Almond Growing region of the world.

As you may know the so-called "Almond Board of California" has recently required that all California Almonds must be pasteurized.

However there is an exemption to this ruling.

If you buy Almonds directly from a Local California Almond Orchard they need not be pasteurized.

The ruling states that we can not ship them  You must physically drive to the ranch and you can pick up to 100 pounds of Almonds per person per day. But you can come back as many days as you want, and several people may car pool and show up at the ranch at once.

I am a local Almond grower in the Selma California area. We are about to harvest this years almond crop and will be happy to discuss with you requirements for un pasteurized Almonds. Our Ranch is easy to get to, we are just off US Hwy99, 15 minutes South of Fresno, California. We can email you a map and driving directions.

You will need to make arrangements to stop by our ranch at your convenience and pick up the nuts after the harvest. We accept Cash or Credit Cards, sorry no personal checks.

Nut Quality:

Here is some information on our Almonds that are being offered in this Ranch Direct Program:

These Almonds are not pasteurized, and the almonds are not processed in any way. They are dried on the trees by the sun, then shaken off the tree to land on the Orchard Floor, left to dry there for a short period of time, then picked up and hulled and shelled. No processing anywhere. If you stopped by our Orchards and reached up into a tree and grabbed a nut and ate it right there,  the nut you just ate would have gotten the same processing that we apply to all our nuts, that is *none*.

Please note that these are graded US#1  Supreme Nonpareil Almonds or Aldrich Variety Almonds,, your choice of either variety Almonds. The cost per pound for either almond is set a $6.95. There is a small discount for 50 pound boxes of almonds.
